The idea of survival, freedom, and escape stems from my personal life experiences. Specifically from natural disasters and political repression that I have endured as Taiwanese. I am making this series of sculptures to release anxiety, express my worry of an apocalypse from humans destroying the ecosystem, modifying DNA, spreading disease, oppressing others politically. In the end, I hope to see a balance between seeking survival physically but also gaining my freedom spiritually.
