Thomas Ascough
Composer and Sound Designer Thomas Ascough has over ten years of professional music industry experience. After several years as a performing guitarist and pianist he transitioned into music production with a focus on scoring for media in 2015. Ascough soon received his Bachelor of Science in Music Production from Full Sail University graduating Salutatorian with the Course Directors award for Music Business and was inducted into the NSCS Honor Society. He immediately moved to Los Angeles to work as a studio technician and independent composer for over a dozen short films and games while regularly contributing to the Emmy Award winning music library CrimeSonics.
In 2019 Ascough turned his focus towards a Master’s of Fine Arts degree at Academy of Art University in order to refine his compositional skills and personal style. He is currently serving as Student Representative for the Music and Sound Design Department. Thomas especially loves writing fantasy and world music in a whimsical and adventurous style. He's focused on traditional orchestral sounds blended with modern styles and ethnic instruments from around the world.
