Caleb Lugo

Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media / MFA

My name is Wilber Caleb Lugo Carrera. I am a thirty-two year old Puerto Rican American and a U.S. Veteran. I was raised in Sabana Grande, a small town in the southwest area of Puerto Rico. My first memorable experiences with music occurred at a small church in my hometown. As a child I volunteered for every available opportunity to sing in front of a large audience. It was during my high school years that I made the decision to pursue further education in music. Soon after graduation, I was accepted into the BA Music Program (Vocal Performance) at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico.

As my studies progressed, I became involved with several local groups performing Puerto Rican music including The Men Choir of Mayagüez City and a Salsa Orchestra named Impacto Artístico. I also worked as a Worship Leader in a local church. During my final semester as an undergraduate student, I took a music composition class. My experience in that class inspired me to embark on a career as a composer and join the Music Scoring & Composition program at Academy of Art San Francisco.
