Iku Zhang
Iku was born in a beautiful port town in China and grew up in Osaka, Japan.
Iku's love for film and art is innate. From her childhood, what she's loved the most is that immerse herself in the cinema and literature, to explore the value and essence of lives and the world in the art world.
While she was at university, she focused on English Theatre and cinema studies. In her junior year, she got an opportunity to work in a Chinese feature narrative film “Spring Tide” as the director’s assistant. When she first met a team that was passionately creating art, she knew that this was what she needs to do for the rest of her life.
After moving to San Francisco, California to study filmmaking at Academy of Art
University, Iku acquired all the skills as a filmmaker who creating art, and handle the whole process of filmmaking as a director. She then graduated with a MA in Motion Pictures and Television (focusing on Writing and Directing), and is now devoted to making her own film.
