Richard Elliott Whitehurst
Richard Whitehurst is an established green-methods designer and builder with a strong aesthetic for rugged and rustic environments. Richard grew up on a family ranch and timber operation that utilized solar power, wind power, sustainable building and conservation ranching practices and homeopathic medicine for the operation’s cattle and horses.
Richard travels between his two homes in Western Oregon and South Texas. The Oregon property is an on-going conservation effort to restore native Garry white oak savannah and is a federally sponsored conservation forest. His Texas endeavors include managing his family’s ranches and equestrian sporting events. Richard earned his MFA in Interior Architecture and Design in 2014 from the Academy of Art University and is currently completing his MFA in Landscape Architecture.
