Industrial Design / BFA

My name is Jordan Rozendal, and I am a third-year Product Design student at The Academy of Art University currently working towards my BFA in Industrial Design. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I come from a mechanical engineering background where I spent the previous 10 years working in various automotive tooling design companies. I also applied my knowledge of CAD developing furniture for a design studio.

Transitioning into a career that has a positive effect on people's lives is a very important aspect of my life and I want to bring that feeling into my work. Design can change the way a person interacts with the world and opens doors to a happier and healthier life. I would like to be part of that mission.

Accessibo

Video Games should be accessible to everyone, but unfortunately due to awkward layouts and small buttons, it can leave some users with restricted ranges of movement unable to actively enjoy their time playing video games. The Accessibo is an adjustable working controller for the Nintendo Switch to replace the pre-existing “Joy-cons” which have been widely criticized by advocates for Handicapable Video Game Players for being unapproachable. The Accessibo solves this issue by providing larger, easy to press buttons and triggers that can be relocated to suit each user's individual needs.
